Free private membership

Welcome to Mountain Point Lake & Hot Springs

We are glad you are here. Mountain Point Lake is a Private Membership Association for people who value nature, privacy, serene rest, shared responsibility, and considerate use of this special place.

Joining is free. This agreement and the liability waiver take a few thoughtful minutes because they explain how our private community works and how it differs from a public business.

Shared stewardship keeps this place possible. To preserve a peaceful setting rather than operate as a crowded public venue, only a limited number of gathering blocks are opened. Host Members who are financially able are warmly and strongly encouraged to honor the suggested stewardship baseline shown for their selected block. That support sustains maintenance, environmental care, and future improvements.

The baseline is voluntary support, not an admission fee, legal debt, or purchase of access. Members who need a different amount should contact the stewards before scheduling. Members who feel financially blessed are always welcome to contribute more, helping improvements move forward while preserving room for members navigating difficult seasons.

How membership works

Our Private Membership Association

A Private Membership Association, or PMA, is a voluntary association of people who agree to shared purposes, standards, and private member communications.

Freedom of association is legally recognized, but PMA status is not a blanket exemption from generally applicable federal, state, or local law. Mountain Point Lake uses a private-membership structure to establish member standards, limit participation, communicate expectations, and organize member-led gatherings.

Private participation Gatherings and member communications are intended for approved members and their invited guests.
Shared stewardship Members help preserve the property through respectful conduct, honest communication, and voluntary support.
Voluntary association Membership is a choice, and every member agrees to the association's current rules and required paperwork.

Purpose and Mission

Purpose

Meaningful Escape: Provide a peaceful and private alternative to city life, offering a serene environment for relaxation and natural wellness.

Building Community: Foster a sense of connection among members through shared experiences, respectful communication, and voluntary participation.

Mental Health Support: Create a supportive setting where members can decompress, reconnect with nature, and find encouragement from friends and family — without the stressors of public settings or commercial venues.

Mission Statement

Mountain Point Lake and Hot Springs PMA exists to provide a supportive, private environment where members can step away from the pressures of daily life and reconnect with the natural world. By valuing member feedback and honoring a shared sense of community, we strive to offer a unique and enriching experience for all who join.

We are committed to supporting emotional well-being, quiet reflection, and a deeper sense of freedom — all within the framework of a private membership association protected by the U.S. Constitution.

Shared stewardship, development, and maintenance

Section 6: Membership Contributions

Membership is free and is not purchased through a contribution. Contributions are voluntary support received and managed by Josh and Lora Davis in their capacity as private stewards of the Mountain Point Lake and Hot Springs Private Membership Association.

Suggested stewardship for gathering blocks

Maintaining a private five-acre freshwater lake, lakeside gathering areas, and a geothermal hot spring ecosystem requires continuing care. To protect the quiet character of the property, only a limited number of scheduled gathering blocks are made available. The amount shown while scheduling is a suggested stewardship baseline associated with the selected time block and the PMA's current planning for maintenance, environmental care, operations, and future improvements.

The suggested baseline is not a commercial admission ticket, fee, legal debt, or charge for access. It does not purchase membership or guarantee a gathering. Scheduling and participation remain subject to membership, required paperwork, approval, availability, and association rules.

Groups and shared support

The expected-attendance question helps with preparation and impact reporting; it does not automatically change the suggested baseline. Because the suggestion is associated primarily with the selected block rather than individual admission, many Host Members find that gathering a larger group makes shared stewardship more manageable. Any private cost-sharing arrangement between a Host Member and invited members is separate from the PMA and should be agreed upon directly among those members.

Financial ability and the honor system

Host Members who are financially able are warmly and strongly encouraged to honor the suggested baseline because that shared support keeps the property cared for and helps future improvements continue. Members who feel financially blessed are welcome to contribute more. A member facing financial hardship may contact the stewards before scheduling to discuss a different contribution amount.

Contributing a different amount, including no contribution, does not create an unpaid balance, collection claim, or legal debt. Josh and Lora Davis retain full discretion over the use and allocation of contributions, with no obligation to apply funds to a particular project, timeline, or request.

Membership Agreement

Membership Terms

By joining the Mountain Point Lake and Hot Springs Private Membership Association (PMA), members voluntarily agree to the following terms:

  1. Privacy: Members agree to keep all association activities, discussions, and shared communications confidential and within the private member community.
  2. Conduct: Members will conduct themselves respectfully and responsibly at all times and will honor the values of stewardship, cooperation, and peaceful use of the property.
  3. Contributions: Membership itself is free. Contributions, particularly from Host Members scheduling gatherings, are voluntary but strongly encouraged as an established shared-stewardship norm. The amount displayed for a selected gathering block is a suggested stewardship baseline, not an admission ticket, fee, legal debt, or charge for access. A member may choose a different amount, including no contribution, without creating an unpaid balance or collection claim; members seeking a different amount should contact the stewards before scheduling so the choice can be handled and documented. A contribution does not purchase or guarantee membership, scheduling, or participation, all of which remain subject to required paperwork, approval, availability, and association rules.
  4. Liability: Members understand that participation in any activity is voluntary and at their own risk. By joining, members agree to hold harmless the association, its stewards (Josh and Lora Davis), and any affiliates from liability for injuries, damages, or losses incurred while participating in PMA events or activities.
  5. Revocation: Membership may be revoked at any time, for any reason, at the sole discretion of the founders. Revocation may be immediate and without appeal.
  6. Liability Waiver: Members must sign the liability waiver (or have a legal guardian sign on their behalf) before participating in any activities on the property.
