Introduction to Our Private Membership Association (PMA)

What Is a PMA?

A Private Membership Association (PMA) is a group of individuals who voluntarily come together for a shared purpose or interest. A PMA operates under the protection of the First Amendment to the U.S. Constitution, which guarantees the right to freely associate for lawful, private activities without government interference.

Legal Foundation

The right to associate privately is upheld by the U.S. Supreme Court in Thomas v. Collins, 323 U.S. 516 (1945), which affirms that individuals have the right to join together for expressive or purposeful activity without prior permission or oversight from the state.

Benefits of Membership

  • 🔒 Privacy: All activities, communications, and gatherings within the PMA are considered private. As a private association, we are not subject to the same governmental regulations or oversight that apply to public businesses or open-access entities.

  • 🌿 Freedom: The PMA structure allows greater freedom to pursue meaningful, peaceful activities — such as recreation, wellness, personal development, and shared connection — without unnecessary interference.

  • 🛡️ Note: Membership in this PMA is by invitation or request only. Participation is private and voluntary, and access to property or events is limited to approved members and their guests.

Purpose and Mission

Purpose

Meaningful Escape: Provide a peaceful and private alternative to city life, offering a serene environment for relaxation and natural wellness.

Building Community: Foster a sense of connection among members through shared experiences, respectful communication, and voluntary participation.

Mental Health Support: Create a supportive setting where members can decompress, reconnect with nature, and find encouragement from friends and family — without the stressors of public settings or commercial venues.

Mission Statement

Mountain Point Lake and Hot Springs PMA exists to provide a supportive, private environment where members can step away from the pressures of daily life and reconnect with the natural world. By valuing member feedback and honoring a shared sense of community, we strive to offer a unique and enriching experience for all who join.

We are committed to supporting emotional well-being, quiet reflection, and a deeper sense of freedom — all within the framework of a private membership association protected by the U.S. Constitution.
